What is a saint ?

Saints are people who are recognized for their holiness, faithfulness, and dedication to God. In Christianity, the word “saint” can refer broadly to all believers, but it is often used more specifically for men and women whose lives showed exceptional love, sacrifice, and obedience to God. Many saints, such as Saint Peter, Saint Francis of Assisi, and Mother Teresa, are honored for their service, compassion, and strong faith. Christians look to saints as examples of how to live a life devoted to God, and in some traditions, they ask for the saints’ prayers and intercession. Saints remind believers that ordinary people can live extraordinary lives of faith and love.
