stories of grace *
Faith means trusting in God and His promises, even when we cannot see what lies ahead. It is not just believing a set of facts in our minds but having deep confidence that God is real, that He loves us, and that His Word can be trusted. The Bible describes faith as “the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not seen,” which means we hold on to God’s promises with confidence, even before we see them fulfilled. True faith leads us to follow God, to obey His teachings, and to live out that trust in our daily lives, especially during hard times when hope might be hard to see.

About miracles
miracles are extraordinary events that go beyond natural explanation and are believed by many to be acts of God’s power at work in the world. In the Bible, miracles often reveal compassion, authority, and divine purpose. For example, Jesus Christ healed the blind and the sick, fed over five thousand people with only a few loaves of bread and fish, calmed a violent storm with His words, and raised Lazarus from the dead.
Jesus is lord
Jesus grew up in Nazareth and began His public ministry around the age of 30 after being baptized by John the Baptist. For about three years He traveled throughout Galilee and Judea, teaching about the Kingdom of God, calling people to repentance, love, and forgiveness, and performing miracles such as healing the sick, calming storms, feeding large crowds with small amounts of food, and raising people from the dead.
SAINTS miracles
THE miracles OF SAINT PADRE PIO
Saint Padre Pio (1887–1968) was an Italian Catholic priest and Capuchin friar known for his deep spirituality, devotion to prayer, and reports of miraculous gifts. Born Francesco Forgione in Pietrelcina, Italy, he joined the Capuchin order as a young man and later became famous for bearing the stigmata—wounds corresponding to those of Jesus Christ on the cross—which he reportedly carried for 50 years.
Padre Pio was widely known as a spiritual advisor and confessor, spending long hours hearing confessions and encouraging repentance and faith. Many people claimed he had spiritual gifts such as healing, bilocation, and the ability to read hearts. Despite skepticism and investigation by Church authorities during his lifetime, devotion to him grew rapidly.
He founded a hospital, the “House for the Relief of Suffering,” in San Giovanni Rotondo, combining spiritual care with medical treatment. After his death in 1968, reports of miracles continued, and he was canonized a saint in 2002 by Pope John Paul II. Today, Padre Pio remains one of the most beloved modern saints in the Catholic Church.
Devotees of Saint Padre Pio continue to share testimonies of physical and spiritual healing after asking for his prayers during serious illnesses.
Stigmata: For 50 years, Padre Pio bore the wounds of Christ on his hands, feet, and side, which were said to bleed periodically and were a source of spiritual inspiration.
St. Carlo acutis
my patron saint
Healing of a Brazilian boy (Annular Pancreas) – A young boy in Brazil who had a rare congenital pancreatic defect was unable to eat solid food and suffered constant pain. After his mother prayed for Carlo Acutis’s intercession and brought him to a prayer service where he touched a relic of Carlo, the boy was suddenly able to eat normally, and doctors later confirmed his pancreas appeared healthy. This healing was declared medically inexplicable and was the miracle that led to Carlo’s beatification in 2020
Healing of a young woman after a bike accident – In 2022, a 21‑year‑old Costa Rican woman named Valeria suffered a severe head injury and hemorrhage from a bicycle accident in Florence, Italy. Her condition was critical and doctors gave a poor prognosis. Her mother prayed for Carlo’s intercession at his tomb in Assisi, and shortly afterward Valeria began to breathe on her own and made a rapid recovery. The Vatican officially recognized this as a second miracle in May 2024, paving the way for Carlo’s canonization in 2025.
Saint Francis of Assisi
Taming the Wolf of Gubbio: A fierce wolf was attacking people and livestock in the town of Gubbio, but Francis is said to have approached it peacefully, made peace between the wolf and the townspeople, and the wolf lived peacefully afterward.
Receiving the Stigmata: In 1224, while praying on Mount La Verna, Francis is believed to have received the wounds of Christ—marks on his hands, feet, and side—known as the stigmata, showing his deep union with Jesus’ suffering.
Healing the Sick: Many traditional stories say Francis healed people through prayer, such as paralytics, blind people, and those afflicted by disease when he made the sign of the cross over them.
saint Nicolas
He once healed a woman’s withered hand simply by placing his hand on it and praying, and it was restored.
When a famine struck Myra, Nicholas appeared in a merchant’s dream and placed gold in his hand so he would bring grain to feed the starving people
Nicholas saved three innocent men from execution by boldly intervening and stopping their execution, and later appeared in dreams to authorities to secure their release.
He is most famous for secretly giving bags of gold to a poor man so his three daughters could have dowries and not be sold into hardship.
Stories tell of him multiplied grain or protecting ships during storms by his prayers, earning him a reputation as a protector of sailors.
Saint Catherine of Siena
Catherine was known for healing the sick and helping plague victims in Siena through prayer and care, even though she personally did not fall ill despite being among the sick during outbreaks. Her loving service was seen as a sign of God’s power at work through her.
She experienced profound mystical visions and ecstasies, including what many consider a mystical exchange of hearts with Jesus and other deep encounters with the divine that testified to her intimate spiritual life.
n 1375, Catherine received the stigmata—the wounds of Christ’s passion—though she asked that the marks remain invisible to others during her lifetime.
One well‑known miracle story involves two hardened criminals whom Catherine prayed for; they experienced a sudden conversion, repented, and welcomed the sacraments before their execution, astonishing the townspeople.
After her death, miracles were reported at her grave, contributing to her canonization and widespread devotion.
St. Charles Borromeo
During the famine of 1570, he managed to organize and distribute food so that thousands of people were fed each day for months, an act seen as a miraculous provision in a time of great need.
In the plague of 1576–78 in Milan, Charles didn’t flee like many others but cared for the sick and dying, giving away his wealth and personal possessions to comfort them; many accounts describe divine protection for him and those around him during constant exposure to the disease.
A well‑attested story tells of an attempted assassination in which a bullet struck his clothing but did not harm him, which witnesses at the time regarded as miraculous protection.
There are reports of healings connected to his prayer and relics — including a nun said to be cured instantly after touching one of his vestments — which contributed to the belief in his powerful intercession.
Many works of art from after his canonization depict various healings and wonders attributed to his ministry and intercession, showing the impact his holiness had on people’s lives
our lady of Guadalupe
Our Lady of Guadalupe is believed by Catholics to have performed several important miracles beginning in 1531 when she appeared to Juan Diego on Tepeyac Hill. During these apparitions, she asked that a church be built in her honor and gave a sign to prove her appearance was real. In the middle of winter, she caused beautiful Castilian roses to grow, even though they were not in season and did not normally grow there.
When Juan Diego opened his tilma to show the roses to the bishop, her image miraculously appeared on the cloak, which Catholics believe was a supernatural sign. That tilma is still preserved today at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe and has lasted for nearly 500 years.
She also performed the healing of Juan Diego’s uncle, who had been seriously ill but suddenly recovered after she promised he would be healed. Over the centuries, many people have reported healings, protection, and answered prayers after asking for her intercession.
In 1921, when a bomb exploded near the tilma, the area around it was badly damaged, yet the tilma remained unharmed, which many believers consider another miracle.
